Mosquitos and bugs

Koh Andet Eco Resort is in middle of nature, of course, they get lots of bugs. But the most active time are only from 6pm to 8pm. You should put down the mosquito net over the bed right before the sunset if you don’t want to sleep with them until morning.

There were a lot of mosquitoes and bug light bulb when we were having dinner (around 7pm) at the restaurant so don’t forget to bring mosquito and bugs spray with you.

Be sure to ask the staff about seeing fireflies. There’s a chance to see them especially from December to February. It was raining when I visited there, I didn’t have chance to see them.

Island Food

Talking about food, Koh Andet Eco Resort is located on isolated island, once you get on the island there are no other restaurants beside the restaurant itself unless you go to Koh Kong city which is 20kms away. ヾ( ̄O ̄)ツ Why need to do this such troublesome thing, while we go there to relax?

I can say the food on Koh Andet Eco Resort is double in price compared to the mainland, but I don’t think it’s expensive at all because it will take about 2 hours back and forth to the city if you want a good restaurant.

If you eat food on the resort, you can spend more time relaxing or swimming or do kayaking too.

And I don’t think you can find any restaurants which give you fresh air and have amazing views around as this one in the city. With these beautiful scenery around my table, I’m going to say the food here is very reasonable and delicious. (´。• ᵕ •。`) ♡

Waterfall near Koh Andet Island

Koh Andet Island is located on Tatai River surrounding by jungle, about 4km from Tatai Bridge, Koh Kong province. About 1km from the island there’s small and beautiful waterfall which not many people know and have ever been there yet.

If you stay at Koh Andet Eco Resort which located right on the Koh Andet Island, you can do kayaking to the waterfall since the resort offers you a private kayak to go around for free. So it’s not only about waterfall, but also the time to enjoy kayak experience. (*´▽`*)

About 1km away from the resort, turn right at a small channel and keep going for few hundred meters more, you will see bunch of rocks as a dead end.

Leave your kayak there, and walk up about 100meters more, you will see a beautiful waterfall hidden in the middle of the forest. Some of the rocks are very sharp, slippery and shaking so please be careful. ァィ(。・Д・)ゞ

If you don’t want to go to the waterfall, you can enjoy swimming at the channel while waiting. The water is very clear and shallow, so you’d better wear in swimsuit from the resort.

I recommend you should go with tandem kayak (2 people kayak) because it’s going to be very tiring with single kayak. (; ̄Д ̄) Or you can go by kayak and come back by boat. You can ask the resort staff to prepare a boat when you return.

Tatai Waterfall

There is big waterfall known as Tatai Waterfall on Tatai River in Koh Kong Province which is about 5km from Tatai Bridge.

I went on a private boat tour to Tatai Waterfall which was arranged by Tatai Resort and Marina last year. The boat was so big just for 3 of us. The tour guide was very friendly and helpful.

Since the resort was just next to the Tatai Bridge, it took only 20mns to reach the waterfall and the scenery was so amazing on the way.

The boat cannot go near the waterfall due to many many big rocks. It is parked about 100 meters away and you have to go on by walking if you want to go top of the waterfall.

Actually, I visited there once a few years ago. At that time, we had to crawl up and down along the stream and slippery rocks in order to reach the waterfall and it took about half an hour, but now they have made a new path on hillside next to the waterfall which is easier to walk and it takes only short time.

You’d better wear comfortable sport shoes and long pants and it’s better to start the boat tour to the waterfall from early morning so you can enjoy there longer.

Kayaking on Tatai River

One of the best activities during my stay at Koh Andet Eco Resort is kayaking and it was free!!! (´∀`艸)♡

There was a tandem kayak (2 people kayak) parking outside our lodge, but since I like paddling alone, I asked them for a single kayak and they didn’t charge any cents. It was good to do kayaking in the morning because it was not so hot.

I stayed there only one night, so I didn’t have much time paddling around. If you stay there longer, you can paddle further, and check nearby resorts called 4 Rivers Floating Lodge and Tatai Riverfront Resort too. Who knows, you might be interested and come back again next time. (*゚▽゚*)
